Pilgrims Café
PILGRIMS CAFÉ
Check us out: join our community and make your new friends in the Pilgrims Cafè.
Our community is hosted by Sankt Jacobi in the Großer Saal every Monday from 6-9pm. As a community we are independent: while we have many different nationalities, cultural and/or religious backgrounds, all of us are welcome - whatever our beliefs are.
In our Evening Prayer for Pilgrims, we are inspired by the story of Jesus enlightening and encouraging his friends on the way to Emmaus, just as we might be able to recognise in one of the big windows of the Jacobi church.
Like Jesus’ friends in the story, we pray ‘Stay with us, now evening falls’.
In the second half of the evening, we catch up and discuss the ways of the world. Here, in our cafe, we bring many countries and backgrounds together in one. This is exactly our response to a world which shows division and despair: joining together, even when we feel miles apart.
